Restaurants
Of the ones we have tried the following are our favourites:
Hotel Le Hors Piste Tel +33.4.76.79.42.40
This is the hotel at the foot of the Clos du Pre lift and which
manages the Apartment for us in resort. It is friendly and
lively and does quality non-fussy food. The hotel also hosts the
Ozzie bar.
Auberge la Cure Tel +33.4.76.79.89.27
In the summer this operates out of the old village of Oz and is
more upmarket and is definitely fancier food, but fantastic and
no skipping on the portions. It is a family run outfit. From
Winter 2006 they will be opening a restaurant in the Hotel des
Neiges complex right next to the apartment.
Restaurant Le Poutran Tel +33.4.76.80.78.03
In the centre of the resort next to the ESF meeting point in
winter and next to the Boules play area in the summer. Good
typical French mountain-style food.
Snack-bar La Causerie Tel : +33.4.76.79.87.86
Although this doesn’t look like much from the outside they do
really good food – especially their salads, and the Steack Hache
is well worth a try. They have a room down stairs which isn’t
easy to see.
Restaurant La Guinguette Tel +33.4.76.80.75.72
This is down in the valley floor and is next to the lake – we
haven’t tried it yet but it looks good.
Bars
Ozzie Bar Part of the Hotel Hors Piste, and in our view the best
on offer.
Le Poutran In the centre of the resort next to the ski-school
meeting place and a great place for a beer any time.
La Causerie Closest to the Poutran lift – the nearest après-ski
venue after a hard days skiing. |
